Ingredients

  • 500g green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch length piece
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for those who like a bit of heat in their food)
  • Sesame seeds or chopped scallions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook until tender but still crispy for about 5 to 6 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, honey or brown sugar and red pepper flakes, if using. Set aside.
